Minor Issues that can occur when completing a Short Sale on your Home

Hi my name is Chris Bowers and I am the owner and team leader of the Bowers Team, your Arizona short sale specialists. I wanted to take just a few minutes to talk to you today about some of the minor things that go on in short sales. I guess they are minor to me but they may be major to some people.

What happened this week is there are a few stories on re-keying properties. I had a gentleman who gave me a call and he actually had mailed in his keys to the bank before he left on active duty in the military. He flew across country to serve our country. He mailed in his keys and when he got back, he decided that he wanted to short sell his property but didn’t actually have a key to his home. To some people, that could actually hold up the entire process. They thought they didn’t have a key to their home anymore and they didn’t know what they were going to do. I let him know he still owned the property so we just needed to get the property re-keyed.

I had another lady who called me and it was also another military family situation. They live out of state now. They actually hadn’t paid on their mortgage for several years and the bank is finally now starting to take that property back. So now they are thinking about short selling the home. They also don’t have access to their home anymore either. We can just get the property re-keyed. It’s still your home so you still have ownership of it so if you don’t have a key, we re-key it, and we get in there.

Really the point of this video today is to let you know that whatever situation is going on, we don’t want to see your home go to foreclosure over a $65 re-key fee. We understand that it might be a big issue where you might not be able to afford that, but we can’t allow that to happen with us knowing that we are really good at getting short sales closed.
